Each site comes with a picnic table and fire ring, and the park maintains clean bathhouses with hot showers.
For families, the park offers a large playground and open green spaces. Hiking trails wind through the mountain terrain, including the popular Fire Tower Trail and North Plateau Loop. The park store stocks basic camping supplies and firewood during peak season.

Reservations are recommended during spring and fall, when foliage and mild temperatures draw visitors from across the region. The park entrance is located at 5105 Nolen Ave SE, Huntsville, AL 35801. Check-in begins at 3 PM, and check-out is at 11 AM. Pets are welcome on leash, and the park enforces quiet hours from 10 PM to 6 AM.
